I suppose there's no better time than Halloween for this post. I have always wanted to give out toothbrushes in lieu of sticky candy, but could never find affordable ones in bulk. It's just as well though, I suppose. Being TP'd is never too much fun.
Have you ever thought, "I wish there was a book about that," then thought a little more and realized, "Hey, I could write a book about that!" Too late, fine folks. Deceptively Delicious is here. But now is the time to place your hold-- Oprah has been talking about this one.
I am as into getting our kids to consider all food groups with an open mind as anybody, and do not consider hiding veggies in other foods to be deceptive. I do, however, like to err on the side of caution. I'm more than happy to add more vegetables to our diet by hiding them. I have been using Sneaky Kitchen online for years now.
Besides, what a person tastes can become less surprising after many tries. I wonder whether slowly increasing certain ingredients in certain recipes would increase likelihood of approval later? I look forward to noodling with these recipes when our copy comes in.
